Start of the “Junior Maker Pioneers” project: space for creative minds

We are excited to announce the launch of the “Junior Maker Pioneers” project, supported by MINDtastic. This initiative empowers children and teenagers aged 8 to 14 to expand their technical skills and knowledge of renewable energies. At its core, the project revolves around the concept of “making,” which encompasses hands-on craftsmanship, tinkering, and inventing.

Led by FH Steyr, this project provides young individuals with the opportunity to collaborate and build projects alongside like-minded peers. The range of projects is diverse, spanning from wind turbines, photovoltaic (PV) and solar systems, and hydropower plants to pneumatic systems, energy storage solutions, generators, electric motors, electric cars, and smart rooms/homes.

The “Maker” junior teams kicked off in March 2024, with meetings held at the Makerspace Steyrwerke located at Wieserfeldplatz in Steyr. Each session lasts 2-3 hours, depending on the project, and occurs every two weeks starting at 4:00 PM. Membership for each child costs €5 per month and grants a parent 24/7 access to the Makerspace Steyrwerke.
